Good Governance, Corruption and Budgetary allocation to fight against corruption:

Good Governance, Corruption and Budgetary allocation to fight against corruption:

Is it easy to fight against corruption? Do we need to invest to curb corruption? Do we need budgetary allocation to fight against corruption? There is budget for the trial of War Criminals (we salute for that). Finding single solution of corruption is hard or impossible.

As we have no control now upon the state machinery, we are talking about individual level (Corruption Free Family). We need to work on all surroundings aspects of corruption. In the policy makers, directly campaign against Corruption may face resistance.

It is better to talk about Good Governance. If good governance has to achieve, there is no alternative to pass it through the ordeal test of Corruption. Where there is corruption, there is lack (absence!) of good governance. That’s why Bangladesh is not a state of good governance.

“The transparent and accountable management of human, natural, economic and financial resources for the purpose of equitable and sustainable development, in the context of a political and institutional environment that upholds human rights, democratic principles and the rule of law” (Definition of Good Governance, EC).

It covers many fundamental areas. Each category, each step is now stuck up in the process of achieving Good Governance in Bangladesh due to corruption.

Let’s fight for both curbing corruption and achieving good governance. Both of them will feed each other and corruption free Bangladesh will come closer.
